My first sight of a Scout in the air was on a windy day near Karitane.
The Scout's empty weight was under 50kg, the motor, 12 hp and the cruising speed around 30 kt, although that might have been optimistic. Control was 2-axis (rudder/elevator-warping, I think).
About a year ago I came across an ad in the aircraft for sale section of trademe which evoked some nostalgia.

The self-publishing landscape has been transformed over the last 10 years or so. Before that self-publishing was equated with vanity publishing i.e.
